It is impossible to find more articulate, precise and enthusiastic instructors. I know because I've tried! Studio Cirq is by far the best.
I have been attending Studio Cirq as a regular for over 4 years. The facilities and location of the studio are excellent and the teachers are all of an exceptionally high standard, friendly and helpful. The varied class formats and comprehensive timetable have something to offer everyone.
I have had a few false starts with Pilates over the years but the Studio Cirq classes have been very effective for me. I have been going now for several years on a weekly basis. Class sizes are good and tuition great, both from the technical perspective and also for the fun factor.
Studio Cirq provides a tranquil environment - a haven, for city workers like me, to relax in, exercise and feel totally refreshed and rejuvenated in very little time.
Studio Cirq for me has been a caring as well as professional experience in all aspects of their operation from class information and timing to their approach to teaching. This has resulted in me being a regular and very satisfied participant in Pilates classes at Studio Cirq for over 12 months.
Sudio Cirq. Friendly, helpful, calming. An oasis within the busy CBD.
The Pilates method of body conditioning is a system of stretching and strengthening exercises to strengthen muscles, improve posture and provide flexibility and balance.
The centre of the torso - stomach, hips, lower back and buttocks - is known as the powerhouse, and is the centre of energy for all Pilates exercises. The workout is designed to stabilise the torso and develop core stabilisation. All movements are initiated from two primary control centres: the lower abdominals and the mid-back muscles, strengthening the support muscles deep within the body. Benefits of practice include improved posture, greater flexibility, improved circulation, reduced stress and endurance.
We teach Mat Pilates using a variety of small props including the bolster, magic circle, theraband, pilates ball, thera-tubing and fitball. Joseph Pilates devised his method originally called Contrology to be performed lying on the floor (mat), this means the exercises can be done very effectively anywhere and without expensive equipment.
Ideally beginners should join a course to learn the fundamentals of the technique. Alternatively casual classes can also be a place to start. Always let the teacher know that you are a beginner.
